There are moments when the sky seems to tear open and ordinary light gives way to something that feels less like weather and more like glory breaking through. This painting holds one of those moments. It’s a glimpse, not the fullness—Scripture speaks of God’s holiness as a consuming fire, a presence too vast to behold fully this side of eternity, and what we’re given now are fragments, foretastes of a glory we were made for but have not yet fully seen. Covenant Fire holds that tension between the already and the not yet: a glimpse now in part, we will one day know in full.
