Endless Range

"How many times in our ascent to wisdom have we planted our flag believing we reached the pinnacle only to see the endless range ahead?"

I wrote these words back in 2019. I was again reminded of them this week as I was seeking the Lord for guidance.

Wisdom is a life-long pursuit. Many today are quick speak or act, believing themselves to be wise by their own estimation, yet lack wisdom all together.

"There is a way which seems right to a man, But it's end is the way of death." 
-Proverbs 16:25

"Then they will call on me [wisdom], but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me, because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord." -Proverbs 1:28-29

True wisdom comes from scripture. And what does scripture say?

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction." -Proverbs 1:7 

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body, and refreshment to your bones." -Proverbs 3:5-8

"Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him. Answer a fool as his folly deserves, lest he be wise in his own eyes." -Proverbs 26:4"The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted." -Proverbs 29:25

This painting was my artistic way of expressing my desire to lead a life that seeks wisdom by first fearing the Lord, knowing that I'll always have miles to go, but He is faithful lead me if I submit to Him.
