Original Oil Painting by Danny Vasquez
The horizon often changes before we do. Long before the full light arrives, the sky quietly announces that night has reached its limit. In this painting, the grey clouds have not disappeared, but they no longer have the final word. A radiant fire presses through the heaviness, reminding us that dawn begins long before the sun is fully seen.
This piece reflects the Christian hope of living in the tension of the already and the not yet. Christ has already broken into the darkness, and His kingdom is already at work, yet we still wait for its complete unveiling. We experience His peace, beauty, and presence in part, while longing for the day when every shadow gives way to everlasting light.
Where The Grey Gives Way is an invitation to look beyond present circumstances and fix our eyes on the coming horizon. The glory to come is not wishful thinking—it is already breaking through. Every glimpse of beauty is a promise that the dawn is real, and one day, the grey will give way forever.
This is part of the Already and Not Yet collection of oil paintings rooted in the glimpses we see of eternity and God's glory through the sky, the land, the sea, and all creation. A glory we can experience in part, but not yet fully– Already and Not Yet.
This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting. It will not be reproduced. Once it finds its home, it is gone.
